Constant promotion of your business is the key
Constant promotion of your business is the key to getting more targeted traffic to your website, which leads to more sales of your product. In order to get highly targeted traffic, you must find the right people to expose your product to. This is called your "target market."
The most obvious thing you think of is to put ads in front of your target market, right? Well, that's one way to get traffic. But there are other ways, too.
Writing articles, for example, is a great way to gain new website visitors. When you write about a subject you're familiar with, you're an expert in the eyes of your
readers. Establishing this "expert status" helps build trust. People rarely buy from someone they don't know so it's important to gain their trust.
Internet users are hungry for information about anything and everything. (They don't call it the "Information Highway" for nothing, you know.) No matter what your product or service may be, there are people looking for it.
First, find ezines related to your subject. Just go to your favorite search engine and type "ezines directories" in the search bar. You'll get a whole list to choose from, and when you visit each directory you'll find many different categories of ezines. Locate some good ezines that pertain to your topic.
For instance, if the subject of your article is how to lose weight without dieting, find ezines specifically about losing weight. That would be a highly targeted market if you're selling weight-loss products. But you could also find ezines related to general health. It would be slightly less targeted, but still close enough to warrant your time and effort.
Next, submit your articles to the ezines publishers. Be sure to address the publishers by name, rather than "Dear Publisher." If you can't take the time to find out their name from their website or listing in the ezines directory, don't blame them if they don't take the time to read or print your article.
At the end of your articles you're allowed to have a resource box. You'll want to include your name, along with the name of your website and/or your product, and don't forget to include the URL.
The readers will enjoy your expertise. Chances are, they'll want to know more about you, so they'll click the link and visit your site. Voila! Targeted traffics to your site.
But, here's the kicker. They probably won't buy your product. Not right then, anyway. There could be a number of reasons for this:
1. They just "met" you, and even though you're an expert in their eyes, they don't feel they "know" you well enough yet.
2. They don't have the money for your product right now.
3. They're busy and don't have time to explore your site to see exactly which product fits their needs.
I think you get the idea. For any number of reasons, those potential customers are going to leave your site within seconds.
You've got targeted visitors at your website, but they're not ready to order, so what do you do?
Capture their names and e-mail addresses!
Offer them a free report about losing weight in exchange for their contact information. In fact, you can offer them the very article they just read! That way they can refer back to it whenever they want to.
You can also offer them a free newsletter, free updates about new products or anything else you want. Just capture those names and e-mail addresses!
You can use a pop-up with your offer and a form for their information, or you can use a simple form on your web page. Either way, do whatever you can to encourage them to let you contact them in the future.
This is where many marketers go wrong. They don't realize that most of their visitors won't buy on that initial visit, and they don't capture that precious contact
information.
The visitors *are* interested in what you're selling, they just might not know it yet. But by establishing yourself as an expert and capturing names and e-mail addresses, you're building a list of potential customers.
The more articles you spread around the 'net, the faster your list, and your business, will grow, so start writing.
